National Police Academy

The National Police Academy was established with the aim of consolidating and improving police training, which until its inauguration in 2015 had been carried out at 20 schools around the country. As the center of all police training activities, the Academy is conveniently located on the main highway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Spread over a 230,000m2 campus, it is one of the largest and best-equipped training facilities in the world, with amenities such as an amphitheater, auditorium, shooting simulator and shooting ranges, sporting facilities, a hostel and more

The Academy was established by Policity on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The company is one of the few in the world to have the combination of knowledge and experience required to plan, establish and run one of the most complex training operations the world has seen in over 25 years, including preparing advanced lesson plans

Hostel and Study Center

The Policity Hostel has 230 rooms and is used for accommodation, hospitality and living quarters in the Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem area

The Academy has several classrooms for lectures, and computer labs that cadets may use throughout their studies. Built to high specifications to ensure the comfort of staff and students

Ranges and simulators

advanced simulator displays a real-time, 180-degree training environment. It combines original, authentic scenarios in both Hebrew and English

and outdoor ranges that usually used to fire long rifles, automatic weapons and sniper rifle fire, for short or long distances of 10-100 meters

Animal complex

The animal complex includes training facilities, dog kennels and a stable

Sport Center

The National Police Academy has state-of-the-art sports complexes that include two gyms with dozens of fitness and training facilities, a semi-Olympic swimming pool located in the heart of the sports complex, an indoor basketball court , 2 Open basketball courts, a professional challenge complex and an Olympic football stadium with Professional running track

The national police academy has several entertainment and food complexes. The dining area contains a dining room and cafeteria used by the staff and the students, a magnificent auditorium that containing 630 seats, a magnificent synagogue and a bird watching lookout point

The Israel Police Visitors Center

Located next to the National Police Academy, the new Israel Police Heritage House was opened to the public in April 2015. It presents the story of the Israel Police, beginning with the Jewish guard organizations of the late Ottoman period and the Mandate police, through the establishment of the Israel Police and its activities over the years, to the functions of the police today. The unique historical exhibits illustrate not only the development of policing from its earliest days to the present, but also the history of the State of Israel and the Jewish community, including major events that the Israel Police have dealt with over the years. The exhibits are adapted to be suitable for different ages, with multimedia displays, holograms, movies, reconstructions from 1950s’ crime scenes, trivia games and more all contributing to an engaging tour experience. As well as guided tours, Heritage House also offers lectures and seminars on issues related to the history of law enforcement and homeland security in Israel, and a variety of learning activities about keeping the law and the role of police in a democratic country

The facilities at the Academy have been designed with sustainability in mind, taking into account environmentally-friendly design and planning (in accordance with Standard 5281), with an emphasis on the use of natural light, shading, topography, conservation of nature and the wadi channel, green roofs, preservation of undisturbed areas within the facility and preservation of the surrounding landscape

All of these elements and more enable reductions in both energy consumption and air pollution

Other environmentally-friendly elements within the Academy include: use of electric vehicles, solar energy, environmentally-friendly cleaning materials, environmentally-friendly gardening, minimal use of disposables, preference for “green” products, economical lighting and more
